The Conch

The conch is  beautiful
 seen in the ocean wonderful
 comes with a sound
mostly hushed not loud
 held close to the ear '
 you could hear
 the ocean roar
the tides come to the shore.

The sound of the conch
 when blown in a staunch
connects to a significant rhythm
 with the reverberation of "Om "
at times of peace the conch is blown
the sound that emanates in a tone
signifies  truce at times of  war
  calls for a  stop from afar.


The conch is held with pride
symbolises prosperity in the ride
blown during weddings
without any sheddings
during  occasions  auspicious
 the melody is infectious
 very simple and in base tone
echoes with an exhilaration  unknown.
