The talk of the town
led me to frown
as it turned baseless
tongues lash shameless
talk of unnecessary deals
.
It is of a man, a political figure
a man who took politics not eager
was pushed into it by his mother
reluctantly holds the post rather
a poor man caught by circumstances.
He led the elections with no interest
the party lost in test
won not even a seat
he being blamed for the defeat
went away on a long holiday.
The town got blazed
he was branded a coward in the race
his ignorance was well exposed
he withstood gracefully poised
yet he wanted a break.
Rumors ran high about his whereabouts
the majority said he had run away without a doubt
ran away with his paramour to another state
his health has deteriorated and is in bad shape
all unwanted slanders circulated.
