New Delhi, the capital Of my country
lives with such wonderful glory
a most lively capitals of the world
has a lot of sites to see not merely in words
the Red Fort is high and magnificent
the most happening place in the world
the Indian Parliament is in the centre
where bills and policies see their light
with clashes and uproars in the plight
a babble of languages in the mix
Hindi is at the top of the fix
the attire takes up different forms
the colours come up in a swarm
altogether a seamless blend
to keep pace with the trend
have to practise and train
well, it is a house in plain
talks and debates are in full blast
a plethora that could never be cast
so much for the parliament
there is the wonderful Rashtrapathi Bhavan
the spacious palatial Bhavan
hosts the President of India
a building to see and admire
the gardens are so well kept
lawns manicured and well kempt
the roses bloom in an exuberance
would stand bewildered at the significance
besides such magnificence there are the chowks
where anything is available in these chowks
New Delhi's weather is controversial
a hot and sunny
during the summer
cold and misty in the winter
need to wrap around a sweater
all these go to make the capital
I speak about it with a point vital
between you and me let it be confidential
I have not seen New Delhi, the place influential
while being born and lived in India so long.
