Booming Noise

Startled got up from bed
 a booming noise so near
 opened the door and fled
 rushed  out into the rear
 the sound followed me close.


 I ran to the front  patio
 the boom came behind
it was a terrible scenario
 I peeped through the blind
could see nothing amiss around.

I sat in my parlour
 shaking and shivering all through
the noise became louder
 I turned blue
I sneaked into the garden.


Lo! saw a concrete machine
busy mixing the mortar
the booming emanated from the machine
up went the mortar
a noise that struck

me still
