Sleep In All Ways

Sleep in the afternoon
 comes too soon
sleep like a log for an hour
no blanket to cover.

Sleep in the night
 keeps my eyes tight
sleep like a feather the whole time
wake up when the bell chimes.

Sleep  during the journey
lands up too easily
sleep lightly with head nodding
rise up when the head goes knocking.

Sleep with eyes wide open
 happens to me too often
my body is at rest in a posture chosen
while my mind travels in a motion.

Sleep has different promotions
the best could be the frozen
the eternal sleep without a wake-up
as death   descends with no follow up.

Go Green

It is green
 the grass is lush green
a greener world.

It is green
 the leaves are  lively green
 a
go green.

It is green
 the parrot is  pretty green
a green evolution.

It is green
 the water becomes soggy green
 a green fermentation.

It is green
the world has to turn green
 a green revolution.

The Full moon Through A Window

The full moon peeped through my window
as I was about to recline on my pillow
it was so  ebullient and bright
with not any blemish flawlessly white
it shone so beautifully in milky white
so soft and smooth it looked to sight
I wanted to catch hold of her  in full
 as she looked so beautiful
lo! she was far into the dark night
 presenting a picturesque sight.

Do Or Die

Do or die
act or leave
 the commands sound harsh
 they reflect a bash
 the way to do
is not wait for a clue
strike it hard with a blow
 a change with a flow
 would surface from the deep
that would be a great leap.
 remember to act
 to keep your place intact.

Greed In Two Different Forms

 G
reed knows no bounds
it wants more and more
the mind as though chased by a hound
 runs for money evermore.

Greed could be in both ways
one be the man who is in need
other could be the one who races
through spending  little on a creed.

Saw both of them in  a platform
 the one surpasses the other
to hide their greed in any form
tell lies after lies one beating the other.

Laughter And Cry.

Laugh and the world laughs
with you
an equation balanced in true
Cry the world would not cry with you
an equation imbalanced in true
it is happiness that is shared
 never is grief cared
 have this in mind throughout
a theorem of life out and out.

I Love You

 I love you
all too common an utterance
not all relevant.

I love you
very easily said than done
mostly for fun.

I love you
I love you in true
I love you

The Monkeys Altogether.

A monkey sits on my wall
plucks the leaves from the tree
it hoots and growls in a call
all the others rush in a free
 they group together with ease
the seniors  all in a please
the little ones a little away
it is a monkey crowd all out there
 could not go out anywhere
I watch them from my window
they fly up and go low
my garden with the flower beds
would soon turn into a distorted threads
I stand with fear all the while
wondering how to chase them in style
 my neighbour sees their mischief
sets fire a cracker in discreet
 the blast scatters them totally
they run for their life absolutely.

A Genius In True.

A genius is not made
 he is born
 the talents are a shade
 of his fawn
 he has an inclination
 not a distraction
 he goes about differently
very true totally.

A genius is hard to find
 anybody of a kind
he is so brainy and brilliant
always ebullient
it is the knack and tact
 astounds us in fact
he is a one to look up to
a genius in true.

A Duck Out.

A drawing I saw
very easily done
 strokes in a flow
expressions of fun
 a batsman pouts
 looks curiously around
he has his own doubts
there is a jeer all around
it is a duck out.

Devils And Demons

Devils and demons
never say amen
cry out hoarse
 and seem to be coarse.

Devils and demons
 live not in dozens
 they think always bad
 and make others sad.

Devils and demons
inhabit the dungeons
they mix with none
have no fun.

Devils and demons
leave a lot of remnants
spit out  venom
and look glum.

Devils and demons
have qualities in common
black  in colour
wicked in behaviour.

Devils and demons are found
within our bounds
be wary of them in all spheres
lest  you would succumb to their  fierce .

Ratio And Proportion

Quake in Nepal
a heat wave in India
storm  in Sydney.

Thousands in Nepal
thousand  more die in  India
ten in Sydney.

Ratio and proportion
inverse and direct not known
deaths too many.

Going In Circles ----Allegory.

My son was cycling around
 he was going in circles
warned him not to go in rounds
he went in circles
being in the garden for a while
 came  to the front yard
saw my son leaning in style
 called him from the yard
he did not reply or turn
worried I ran towards him
he  had felt dizzy in a turn

his eyes grew dim
held him  for a few minutes
 took him slowly back home
he should have learnt that minute
going in circles makes one frenzied.
could be the same in life too!

The Ceiling Fan

An annoying sound
came out all in a sudden
its origin could not be found
it is a little of a burden
creaking at intervals
 disturbing in all
a bother at all levels
it did not stop at all
 finally got up irritated
switched off the fan
the noise got decimated
 the culprit was the fan,

Lies, Blood, Water.

Lies they are
 the water in the ocean
could not  devour.

It is blood
 the waters in the ocean
could not wash.

Macbeth asks rhetorically
so do I ask of him
who speaks lies.

It is I And You.

It is warm
 not I but all
complain in calm.

It is hot
 not I but all
feel it a lot.

It is scorching
not I but all
experience the sweltering.

Yes it is
not for me but for all
unbearable, please.

It is I
it is you
who did it for all.

It is I
 it is you
who brought it in.

It is I
it is you
who ensured global warming.

It is I
it is you
who promoted the catastrophe.

It is I
it is you
 remember, none else.

The Illegality

A thought generous
a feel magnanimous
 that is  how one experiences
normal in a way to dispense
not  that way always
considered as ignorance in a way
 the people take over
exploit with a discover
 knowing not it would crash
sail comfortably with cash
finally chased away in ignominy
that be the destiny of illicit indemnity

The day

The day seems long
wish to sing a song
 the day drags on
 nothing has gone
no events of interest
 no incidents of trust
 nothing could be transcribed
 nor anything to be ascribed
a cheerless day it is
no transactions to please
 yet the day has passed
 could see no cast
 the way it is always
 each one a different day
not every day could bring joy
 try to understand and enjoy
 that would be prudence
 would mark a relevance
with that go ahead steadily
you are sure to win  definitely.

A Liar Speaks kindly.

Lies come to him so easily
not only easily but also quickly
 a character hard to find
a liar yet very kind
 speaks with sugar coated words
 never raises his sword
provocations are not his cup of tea
he drinks them with a tinge of glee
have decided to cut his connections
as he is a falsified  edition.

A Pretence.

Feigning as always
 innocence or ignorance
 it is his way
 which has a relevance
 when questioned in turns
 shouts irrationally
 his words burn
his attitude  wantonly
 one towards his wife
different towards others
chuckles to herself
as she is aware of his weakness.

A clerical Prostitutuion

It is a case of piracy
 can even call it prostitution
selling one's body alone
is termed as prostitution
selling one's service unnaturally
is also straight forward
 prostitution
a clerk under one
works for another one
knowingly the other one receives
 knowingly the clerk renders
is it not wrong to do so?
 the rightful keeps low,
 why I know not know
 questioned he retorts
it is his usual slot
caught red-handed  then and there
it is to condemn both then and there
leaving them free without a warning
is a sign of weakness in the moving.

The Two Cities.

London and Newyork
could be of a great jaunt
 London being
traditional
New York turns out to be dashy
the one vying for the place top
the other easily rises to the top
 a competition very close
 year after year it goes
 the one over the other
 a great way to compete
 could be no defeat
 just a narrow scrape through
 which actually is true.

The Foxy Talk

The town talks
as sly as a fox
it is toxic

The Talk of The Town --- idiom

It is a talk of the town
could raise a frown
 an idiomatic expression
now taken for a discussion
 talks go all around
 not stopped in one round
 as they circulate freely
  their origin not known exactly
it goes from mouth to  mouth
with stories almost unquote
from where it sprang no one  knows

 how did emanate none knows
yet it is talked wildly and possibly
with additions and deletions  noticeably
the talk of the town as we perceive
 becomes a source to believe.

Hope And Prayers

if prayers are answered  today
 who would think of tomorrow
there ends the hope.

The Good Man.

He became distraught
 seeing them get caught
 he tried  to release them
 could only infuriate them
 went near them slowly
  pacified  them gradually
they saw the reason
 he spoke of a caution
 they accepted it with joy
he left them to enjoy.

The Flaw

The flaw
that we do
could hold us in a clasp
 could they be in blue
like the sting of the wasp
so frightful and dangerous
the wasp stings with a venom
 passes through the intravenous
causes a death wholesome
so do the mistakes kill us
when they go beyond a limit
it is easy to deduce
as we can see in a remit.

The quality Of Rice in Rhyme

Rice is nice
being very small in size
a good buy.

Rice is tasty
has aroma and not sticky
a good buy.

Rice is delicious
promotes an appetite  very ravenous
a good buy.

The Pious In True.

A day of events
 a takeover  with a differnce
very much deviant
it being not a corporate
with great sensitivty  and ado
where currency flows over and below
where power looks up with pride
the financcial world eyyes with awe
being a celestial
which shows piety and dedication
where there is
the rich and mighty find no place
the rule is of the omnipotent
 who overlooks worldly gains
 discards the wealthy
embraces the genuine
at least one place I find
where there is no replacement
 nor a disbursement  of
truth

Hair Dye.

The dye that colours your hair
 comes out of much care
yet they say do not dare
as it is not a good fare
would render your head bare
the head would have nothing in a share
it would shine with a glare
and you would look like a hare

The Soothsayer Says.

Heard of a soothsayer
 who tells lies in layers
tells us that curse of our forefathers
would put us in  difficulty with  bother
quickly we should appease their anger
otherwise, it would turn into a hunger
they would gobble and cause death
else would suck our breath
so saying they order us to do
rituals in an elaborate rule
if they are done with dedication
the ancestors would not seek retribution
what a bluff it is in the whole
want to push him into a hole
how do people believe such superstition
I stand aghast at their distraction.

Brings You Money.

What brings you money?
 writing does it generate money
yes and no in  away
 novels bring you money
it is fiction that is money
poetry does not bring you money
aesthetics never land you in money
it is the localised version that gives money
never a high-flown imagination lends money
do not feel supreme as a poet
you would end up in a duet

no fame and no money.

My Place Of Living

My place is dull and dreary
 sapped out of energy
 nothing rally takes place
even you go for a chase
could find nothing around
 the people stay lazy
while the dogs and cats  crazy
 the restaurants are always crowded
the food is so insipid  and  shrouded
the men talk aloud with gestures
it is  a business they say  in features
 the lovers seek privacy
to express their intimacy
these are the happenings in my place
 eating and drinking in phases
 nothing
more in this town
 I can see you frown,

Work Hard With Humour

Work hard you would succeed

advice from long indeed
the amount of effort you input
would reflect in the output
it is all said and done
but it is no fun
 try how hard I query?
you look at me with fury
not necessary to show a grimace
it has nothing to do with a  face
let me know how hard I have to work?
so that I would not lazily shirk
lethargy overtakes me now and then
so to succeed I have to work often
could that be possible in my  schedule
I have to deliberate, I conclude.

Dolly To Oldie

Called a dolly
 with big eyes
 round and sparkling
a favourite to all
loved by everyone
 soft and gentle
 spoke very little
smiled a lot
 diligent in studies
 chaste in words
 majestic in behaviour
 she won all the hearts
 as years have passed
 still she remains so
 with a little difference
 hair turned grey
 eyes less bright
skin wrinkled
 and still loved by all.

A Salvation

Ascribing my pain to my misstep
I now walk with measured step
the legs of mine give trouble
 very thwarting makes me feeble
I, as of now, go and knock often
 somewhere and somehow  in tens
the knees which are already torn
look at me with a scorn
as though they want to ask
is it the way you put us to task
I  curse myself for my carelessness
as I move through my inability in darkness
know not when I would find a salvation
could be near or far tell me without reservation
.

May

I may do
 by the month of May
may I not?

Prayers Wrought Miracles

A prayer with a fervour
 could bring a favour
it is an experience true
very personal to few
 better not explained
 best if you sustain.

Belief wrought miracles
 never ridicule
 true in all ways
as seen in the days
it relieves you of pain
never goes in vain.

Believe with a sense
have a mind not dense
stay steadfast in your take
wonders can you make
you would find peace
in full never in a piece.

That be so with prayers  in defence
they never launch any offence
meanwhile, never falter from duty
that in itself is a beauty
be with folded hands for a while
be  always
with activity in style

Sonorous

A sonorous sound
not mostly from the ground
 very much  inbound.

A deafening sound
 heard not to be found
 kind of rebound.

An alarming sound
frightening as well  in round
 a fearful hound.

A deadly sound
 predicts death in a  drown
a threatening
sound.
.

The Day Gives Away.

The day shines so beautifully
a lovely sunny morning it is
the morning hours go dutifully
a pack, a run and a hurry it is
the children off to school
 the men to their workplace
 the mother with hands full
 organises the house in phases
the sun rises up to the middle
 it is  now noon
with nothing to fiddle
the place relapses too soon
 the momentum slows down
 exhaustion takes he toll
kids walk slowly back with a frown
the men having not reached the goal
return home exasperated and tired
the night envelops the earth
as the day gives way.

A Burly Old Man

A burly man he is
haughty too he is
cries he for all
as he sees his own fall
 malicious he was
 murderer he was
 harmed  many in his way
cheated many in the sway
killed so many who crossed
attempted on his wife for a cause
respected  none in his heydays
condemned most in his days
faces contempt from places unknown
greatly from his adopted son fairly known
weeps and sobs the old man shamelessly
wails and whimpers in his old age pitiably

The Journey Through--- Metaphorical

The faster the train went
the mind  lost  control
it travelled all through the bends
meandering through all pit holes
the train chuckled its way noisily
so did the mind rode in cadence
the train huffed and puffed heavily
the heart weighed with thoughts in reference
away the train went through the long-distance
did the mind  travel with a jerk and jolt?
it did heave and sigh with a disturbance
finally, the train came to a halt
the mind could not  negotiate through
as it was oscillating between the past and present

Rains Represent ---Allegory

The rains came with a fanfare
thunder and lightning in the fare
the winds blew with a whistle
the rains started to fizzle
the build up was so powerful
 the breakdown was so doleful
just could be life in a way
the success and failures may
take one up to the pinnacle
placed  there with a halo around
could bring one to the ground
settled there  with the debacle
the rains are  the allegorical representation
 shows one to the
 rightful destination.

The Gift Of A Woman

the pride of a woman
 rests not on her beauty
 it is another omen
 could be a duty
 the gift of begetting
 the produce significant
 could be most charming
 a feel very relevant
 the liberal extensions
 the community grows
with the additions
the chain of humanity flows
a continuation in  full swing
could be possible by  the female
 they seamlessly bring
a phenomenal propagation in  real
not anything to do with
mechanical or agricultural
the breed is not narrow in width
comprises a dimension all pervasive.

The Harmony

No, two people think alike
especially the husband and wife
the  man shouts in a strike
the woman weeps  in the drive
argue and yell all too loud
one closes the ears in disgust
the other looks at the cloud
they speak not for a few hours at best
remain they sullen and somber
the husband asks the wife to go
get lost he cries all the more
the woman  comes out with a no
she remains firm all the more
 the fight continues all through
 none of them stops
day in and day out the differences grow
 feel peace could never drop
a little understanding could do wonders
a passive  notation would lead to harmony

Rama And HIs idealism

The epic Ramayana denotes
one man and one wife concept
an idealism of note
 one that of a precept
holds a high respect
 the illegality of polygamy
 be it, one man,
and one wife
or could it be in a bigamy
 one woman one husband
the flirt leads to a disaster
when the sanctity of the bond
is thrown out with a flutter
men relate themselves to many women
in the olden days  the harem
hosted innumerable women
of tender age entrapped without a quorum
where illicitness occupied the quarters
such as inebriation and an indulgence
a mockery of the human values in a platter
all being exposed in a divergence
Rama stands out as an epitome of virtues
the lovely eyed King  portrayed in blue
pronounces the status as much in earnest
enforcing the principle all the more with a test
all those older to you are your mother  always
the contemporaries are your sisters always
the younger ones your daughter always
have only one as your wife always
could lead to no evil ever
as lust  progress to  destruction all so ever.

The Credit And Debit

It is a reconciliation
 a work up of statements
a balance of equations
LHS equal to RHS in payments
credit and debit  in accountancy
have to complement each other
they do expose an adamancy
overwhelm each other
credit goes up at times
 shoots up like a spear
 debit goes down at times
 falls down like King Lear
 the juxtaposition is difficult
yet have to struggle to meet
both do invariably reflect
the one is most;y upbeat
 the credit is up mostly
as profits talk well  of the company
 performance is the criteria  lastingly
so do the happiness and melancholy
 show up with an equanimity
 happiness is seen mostly
 sadness becomes a rarity
that is life in a general  practice
similar to the accountancy in  tactics.

A Drain Archaic

Down the lane
 saw a drain
 clogged and clotted
water got stagnated
 no flow out possible
 a foul smell emanated
 could not be tolerated
 it is an open drain
 when it rains
it turns worse
 with dirt dense
 time to condemn
high time to redeem
 features new and useful
 nothing so doleful
 a closed drainage
 appropriate to the stage
 should be built
 where dirt could be dealt
 powerfully and flushed
with a force into the thrush,

The World Of Words

It
 is the words that excite
 the play of words invite
 the pun on words incite
 the placement of words excite
Oh! words do a lot more
could lead to a fight l sore
ramblings could become a bore
stories of the yore
fiery speech in the fore
legends from the lore
keep you attentive
 could make you plaintive
well. it could be a give
could put you in a drive
there be nothing to  a hive
as long as you are alive

Aging Is A task

The age is fun
 some hide the age
it does not stop in a run
you become a sage
 as you grow old
could be a belief
 I nay not vouch so
 aging is a relief
 I nay not feel so.

The age gives an image
 one of seniority
extends a leverage
 a concession in priority
 lends you other comforts
 the honour and respect
as well as certain discomforts
the mobility and  visibility
pull you through the day.

Aging gracefully is a task
 as none could go through
without a drag in the ask
the physical restrictions  get through
the mental refractions  abound
the inability mounts in the course
the bodily illness comes in a rebound
else hard to cope up with force
have to live through with not grace
