The little white flower
 so small like a clover
 looks like a pearl
 has no lively curl

has a fragrance amiable
 very enticing  in a preamble
 takes you unaware
 no other flower would share
 the smell typical of the soil
being grown in an ancient city
dubbed as Athens of the east
is still a city with industrials least
 famous for its temples all around
 the great Meenakshi Amman is found
 the presiding deity of the Pandya kingdom
 even after centuries holds the fiefdom
enough clues for you to find the place
you would have found out the face
 the city is none other than Madurai
 and the flower is called Madurai malli
 widely known as Jasmine all over the world.
