Gold a mania

He is a Midas
 fond of gold
 wants to buy the metal
 every now and then
  a  mania  perhaps
what could we call?
 gold a mania
 a name coined by me
 as I see these people
 with awe and fear
 the lureof gold
 makes them  shun
 the necessities of life
 forego the simple delights
 they hoard and amass
turn crazy and mad
an addiction on the go
 would wear them out in slow.
