The mangoes green
hang all over the tree
the squirrels have a feast
with them the bees enjoy
so do the men with a love
the unripe ones are so wonderful
none could desist from tasting
the mouth waters with a devour
the small ones that fall are bitter
the pickles of these are crazy
the salt and chilli added
make them delicious
a few days after
these would turn ripe
shine with a golden yellow
come there a majority
incline to pluck and store
the alphonsa, the malgova,
the sour ones and the grape
the varieties that abound
send a feel of nostalgia
thumbs up to the mangoes
big and small
green and yellow.
