A Custom

A custom from long
 practised in a community
 gifting to the daughters
 as long as they are alive
the parents do it with love
 give not a token but an abundance
 followed by the brothers
do it as a duty with a token
 if at all the daughters live long
 the brothers' sons take it
 turns into a bother rather
 curse the daughter 's longevity
 anyhow the custom is carried forward
 with love, commitment and trouble
 all the more for years together,
